Face Value
Portraiture, a type of photography where it's mainly focused on the person in the frame with a background mainly including backdrops, use of contrast and a lot of lighting. We are studying portraiture to know about how portraits are taken and the history of them. Portraiture is going to be one of the most important and useful things were going to use because it is included in many other types of photos and it could help us develop how we understand and take photographs.
The first time i saw a portrait was a painting in my house. I don't remember how the portrait was made but the details in the image included a busy city, the colours included in the portrait were black from the dark, dark blue from the windows and jeans some people were wearing and orange and yellow lights reflected onto the ground. The image was presented in a portrait format with a dark background. I would describe this portrait as dark, modern, crowded, good view, expressive, contrasted, lighting, developed, well framed and it being portrait. The portraits have changed a lot since i first saw one such as the aesthetics of it, the use of backgrounds and quality of the photo. The portraits i prefer are ones that have a well and developed background because it makes me more interested in the photo.
