The theme that i explored in my Component 1 was Constructed Landscapes using Photoshop whilst focusing on the space and nature I take my photos of. The first thought I had of this theme was quite interesting because I had a good feeling I can make a good final piece related to this theme. As i started off, my thoughts and ideas weren't great and were limited but as I progressed my ideas developed and done my work to the best of my ability. My main artist I researched was John Divola who I was inspired by a lot. I discovered him by looking at top Photographers who were good at this theme which is where I found John Divola. What I learned from studying his work is how he made his photos effective and was inspired by his ideas which made me choose him to familiarise my work. The big ideas I tackled about Photography was how to make my photos effective. I did this by carefully looking at his images and the techniques/materials he used. This helped me as I managed to make my work better and improve my photography journey.
The different experiments I done was using photoshop and kept refining them and make them better, when it comes to materials by hand I didn't use much as I took a digital approach to my final piece and my process was keep refining and experimenting. I developed my investigation by trying new techniques and seeing which ones were better. I had to make many decisions when thinking of how to lay it out. It has become more sophisticated because the more I experimented the more confident I was which meant I could make better pieces, I made sure my piece would improve over time from consistently experimenting and refining my work which I believe was a success. I'd say not much changed except the way I thought about how to make my experiments better. The habits i used most was persistence and repeating my work and making it better because I felt this way helps the most and shows how the development of ur experiments work. The thing I found most challenging was when I didn't like an outcome and thinking if I'd have to restart everything, this changed through seeing different artists journeys and how they improved their work.
To record my progress I have used my website to look at what I've done in the past and what I'm best at, this told me what decision I was going to make if i was to stick with same concepts from before or try something new which I did because I felt I could of interpreted my ideas in a sophisticated way. Whilst doing my final piece I uploaded all the photoshop I've done including each step so they know how I managed to experiment. The thoughts I put into the recording of my progress was making sure there was an improvement in my work. The way I have designed my page was to show the difference between when I started and towards the end to see the improvement. It shows the quality and thoughtfulness of my work because if the improvement is good it will show the effort I've put in and the quality that the work is at. I think my page has had an improvement because of the way I've set it out and decided how I will progress through constructed landscapes.
Overall My final outcome I believe was successful because of the experience I've had doing this so I knew what to do. In some words I'd describe my personal project as an improvement, tempting, different, well worked. I was hoping I'd create a series of images and display them together to show how I had interpreted my work. I believe i have successfully explored the theme because I have looked at my artist I chose and how their work is good and took notes off how to make my work as good as theirs. If I had more time I think I would just keep making my experiments better, I'm not quite sure what else I would've tried except if I had to do something else is not using photoshop but something else. The thing personal about my work is the fact I was aware of what I would do for my final piece and had a good idea of using photoshop and how i developed my work. From my work I hope viewers will understand how I managed to keep experimenting to get to my final piece and make it the best I could as well as knowing the effectiveness of photoshop. Another thing they should take from my work is the artist I chose because I was very inspired by my artist and would say my work has many similarities.
